2026 in Cork so far
Cork has had twelve listings on the national portal this year, and most came from the councils rather than the housing bodies. Cork County Council advertised three cost rental schemes: 8 three and four-bed homes at Silverwood in Youghal (from €1,170, April), 12 homes at Baile Adaim in Carrigtwohill (from €710 for the smallest, May) and 17 two and three-beds at Warrens Court in Ringaskiddy (from €1,195, June), plus a single three-bed re-let at An Cnocan in Bantry in August. Clúid put single re-lets in the city back on the market as they came up: Lancaster Gate (2-bed, €1,190), Longview in Ballyvolane (2-bed, €1,379) and Newton Heights in Lotamore (3-bed, €1,500).
Affordable purchase was the bigger story. Cork County Council sold 20 homes at Pulleen in Kanturk (from €260,000, January) and 4 at Cluain Réidh in Baile Mhic Íre (from €235,000, May). Cork City Council ran two phases at Glenbride in Kilnap (23 and 24 homes, from €270,500, January and May) and on 4 September advertised 6 two and three-beds at Woodfield in Ballincollig from €287,500, with applications from 23 September. Pattern for the rest of the year: expect council-run schemes in the county towns and Clúid or Tuath re-lets in the city, usually one home at a time and open for about a week.
