2026 in Kildare so far
Kildare opened 2026 with two cost rental schemes in January: Tuath’s second phase at Stradowe Meadows in Athy, 24 one and two-beds from €970, and Clúid’s The Grange on the Celbridge Road in Maynooth, 11 two-beds at €1,650. Since then it has been re-lets, one home at a time: a three-bed at Walker’s Gate in Kildare Town (€1,272, February), a three-bed at Barnhall Meadows in Leixlip (€1,372, July) and one and two-beds at The Paddocks in Morristown, Newbridge (€1,093, July and August). The Paddocks is the county’s largest cost rental development at 250 homes, so single re-lets there will keep appearing.
On the purchase side Kildare County Council sold 12 three and four-beds at Stradowe Meadows in Athy (from €312,000, March) and on 6 August advertised 24 one, two and three-beds at Barracksfield West in Naas from €243,477, with applications closing 15 September. Kildare counts as outside Dublin for cost rental, so the income limit is €59,000 net even in Leixlip and Maynooth, and rents at Leixlip schemes run close to Dublin levels; the 35% rule bites harder here than the headline limit does.
